At ABC Belfast, we pride ourselves on creating a family like atmosphere where it feels like your home away from home. We believe in building strong relationships between teachers, children, their whānau and the wider community. The team at ABC Belfast acknowledges how important these relationships are to enable each child to reach their learning potential.
We’re a small centre with a maximum of 45 children, and we cater for children from two to five years old. Our centre environment encourages tuakana-teina relationships where children support each other to learn and grow with guidance and knowledge from our 100% qualified teaching team.
Our Be School Ready initiative is woven throughout the everyday curriculum Te Whariki. As we prepare children for school we build on their development level and learning and we ensure we provide age appropriate activities to all. Children learn and develop social and self-help skills with numeracy and literacy woven into the daily programme.
It’s important to us that our children are prepared for their next learning journey. To be ready for school as confident, competent learners. We focus on life-long skills and work in partnership with our local school environments to explore and learn about what this next step looks like. Each term we visit Belfast School with a group of children to make the transition into the school environment as smooth as possible.
You’re welcome to come and visit our centre at any time and we look forward to meeting you.
Please feel free to contact our Centre Manager, Nicola or our Administrator, Siobhan with any questions you might have.

” To the amazing staff at ABC Belfast, John and I would like to thank you all so much for preparing our little girl for the next chapter of her life. You guys did a good job!”
“Matthew’s clapping and cheering when we arrive at ABC Belfast in the car is probably the best indication of what we all think of this wonderful preschool. I cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful, dedicated teachers and support staff. Matthew has only been going to preschool for a few months, but he has settled in incredibly well. I know this is because everybody at ABC Belfast is so wonderfully warm and responsive to the children, their siblings as well as the parents.”
“Each and every day, the staff go above and beyond to ensure the children are happy, engaged, playing and learning. It is the extra quality care and interest in the family that makes it a special place. I am always so amazed by the enthusiasm and the time the teachers take to tell you all the details about Matthew’s day, who he played with, what he learnt and how he ate, what he enjoyed etc. etc. Another bonus is that ABC Belfast offers Healthy Heart approved meals, which means I don’t have to worry about Matthew eating great, nutritious food – and trying new foods because his classmates are eating it too! “
“The genuine caring that the staff show the children at the preschool makes ABC Belfast a child’s ‘home away from home. I know it is rare to find a preschool with such amazing staff, which is why I cannot recommend ABC Belfast enough to anyone who wants a wonderful, caring and nurturing learning environment for their child.”
“We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to you all for everything!!! Kasya cried in the car after her last day… and that means you have done a really good job!!! SHE LOVES ALL THE TEACHERS!!! I think she left a part of her heart at ABC Belfast!! and we as Parents too…. Really thank you so much… We hope to come back and visit soon…”
“To the wonderful team at ABC Belfast, thank you so much for all your time and effort with Zoe and Jemma. I am so proud of how Zoe has taken to school – she is very confident and happy there which proves what a fine job you have all done. Jemma is shaping out the some way. I have nothing but positive thoughts and words for your childcare.”
“Ross has settled in extremely well at his new PreSchool. The new Preschool’s teaching philosophy is all about social skills and we are being told that Ross is the best equipped socially of all the children there. A huge part of that is down to you guys, so Jo and I would like to say thank you all for your fantastic input into Ross’s upbringing. I reckon he is a real credit to your child development skills in all areas and I have not been short in telling people what a great bunch you all are. We will be in for a visit when we can.”
“Thank you Julie! What a priceless moment!! You always go that extra mile. 😊Because of that, I feel like I was there for that amazing moment; that any where else it could of been missed. Clearly you have an amazing connection with our lucky children. Thank you for contributing to that much needed home connection. Your an awesome teacher!!! 👍”
