ABC Papamoa Childcare is situated centrally in beautiful Papamoa, located across the road from Te Akau Ki Papamoa Primary School. Our team of enthusiastic and passionate teachers value the stages and milestones children meet in their learning journeys, and are excited to see your child thrive. We value the relationships we have with our families and the community and believe they are an integral part of our Early Childhood Childcare Centre and curriculum.

At ABC Papamoa, we are a mixed aged childcare centre catering for children aged 2 to 5 years. We offer full time care and morning or afternoon sessions, providing healthy and nutritious morning and afternoon teas in support of the NZ Heart Foundation’s Healthy Heart guidelines. We currently have the Pá- Harakeke (Gold award).  We kindly ask that our parents also follow these guidelines when packing their child’s lunch box.

Our environment at ABC Papamoa encourages children to explore the resources available and curriculum rich centre environment, allowing a variety of learning opportunities and social experiences as they engage with their peers and teachers building quality relationships.

At ABC Papamoa we pride ourselves on our inclusive environment. Our Childcare centre provides a beautiful outdoor setting, including a vegetable garden which the children are actively involved in.

Our kaiako provide meaningful learning experiences, focussing on children’s interests, and engage in positive relationships with the children and their families, creating a ‘home away from home’ feel.

Here at ABC Papamoa we have built a positive reciprocal relationship with Te Akau Ki Papamoa Primary School, which includes a transition to school programme. Our 4 year old children have an opportunity to participate in class activities every week to prepare them for school. This enables children to visit the school, new entrance classrooms, meet teachers, and gain knowledge of the school curriculum and routines as they prepare for school. This is in-line with our Be School Ready initiative we offer, and with the support of our teachers whom your child will develop trusting relationships with.

What makes us unique?

  • We have successfully received a ‘Very well placed” from ERO. We are a homely, welcoming centre and we go the extra mile for our families.
  • We are actively involved in gaining our sustainability awards, come and see what we have been doing and our beautiful gardens.
  • We have recently recieved two Trustmark awards, a Best Start initiative, in Working with Others and Quality teaching, feel free to ask us about this.
  • We are a culturally diverse centre and have wonderful support strategies for our children with english as a second language.
  • We also have a strong transition to school process to Te Akau Ki Papamoa, where our qualified teachers take our children on 6 weekly visits leading up to them starting school.

Parent Feedback:

“Lebron has been with the ABC Papamoa Centre for just over 16 months now. The centre as a whole has exceeded our expectations. The warm, kind and caring team has made my husband and I feel at ease knowing how well Lebron is cared for throughout the day. The staff have become our whanau.  Lebron is always excited to go to ABC every day and is thriving because of the amazing team. We love how organised the centre is and that the kids can enjoy a combination of structured learning activities as well as explore free play.  If I were to rate ABC Papamoa it would be a 11/10. We are so grateful for all the hard work and efforts that Celeste and the Team put into the centre in order for our kids to have such an amazing home away from home”.

“The teachers at ABC Papamoa are wonderful and supportive of my son and me as a parent. They have guided him in preparing for school and managing himself. He is always happy to go to ABC and has developed wonderful relationships with children and teachers. It has a wonderful homely feel to it, and there is always something happening. They have lots of excursions and involve themselves in community events. Myself and my son are going to really miss the centre when he moves on to school.”- July 2016

“The staff are amazing and always greet with gentle hugs and warm smiles. my children have bonded with staff to an extent of where learning is so much more. I couldnt be more grateful of where my children are situated.”
