ABC Te Atatu Peninsula
ABC Te Atatu is a beautiful purpose built childcare centre in West Auckland. Located on the corner of Te Atatu Rd and Cellarmans St, the centre is close to the main shops and motorway on ramps. We offer sessions, short days and full day options, both part time and full time over the week – flexible to your needs. We invite you to come and see how we can help your child become capable, confident, independent and ultimately ready for school.
We have a highly experienced and stable teaching team offering quality education and care for our children. Our teachers (kaiako) are committed and enthusiastic professionals providing supportive and nurturing educational experiences and care for tamariki from 3 months to school age.
Age Specific Spaces
The spaces at ABC Te Atatu are designed with separate indoor and outdoor areas for infants, toddlers and kindergarten-aged children to cater to their developing learning needs. This allows us to provide new learning opportunities for all age groups. Our families love that our teachers have expertise in their chosen age groups.
The infant teachers in the Tui room form close, nurturing relationships with families and we follow each child’s home routine. We create a calm and loving place for our youngest children filled with cuddles and smiles.
Our toddlers in the Kea Room are exposed to sensory exploration and encouraged into group play to develop social skills and independence. Our toddlers become active in the community through scheduled trips, adding to their learning experiences.
The transition into the Kiwi and Moa kindergarten rooms is carefully planned to ensure every child is developmentally ready and moves with their friend groups. The kindergarten room is an exciting place for children where their learning is developed to fulfil their potential. BestStart’s unique Be School Ready programme prepares children individually and in groups for Primary School focusing on literacy, numeracy, socialisation and independence skills.
At ABC Te Atatu we are dedicated to making a positive impact in children’s lives and to supporting family/whanau. We are committed to developing respectful relationships, valuing and promoting inclusiveness in all that we do. We acknowledge Te Tiriti o Waitangi as the founding document of Aotearoa New Zealand, and are committed to embracing our bi-cultural heritage. Culture is a very important part of ABC Te Atatu and we have many ways and experiences to help develop cultural identity.
We value collaboration as vital to the success of our programme and see ourselves as a multicultural ‘community of learners’. Our curriculum is based on Te Whāriki and we support natural development where children set their pace for their own learning and develop according to individual and group interests. Warmth, trust, respect and aroha are woven into the fabric of our philosophy.
We are excited to offer our families access to Storypark e-portfolios. They are a great way to keep up to date with what you child is doing while at the centre. You can log in to the secure platform wherever you are in the world to see what’s been happening in their day, check out photos of them and comment on their activities.
