Conveniently located close to the CBD and Westfield Riccarton, our centre offers something special. We are a rich multi-cultural environment which is reflected in our vision.  Children’s cultures and diversity are affirmed and incorporated into our curriculum for children and whanau to develop a strong sense of belonging.

We embrace the whole child and all they bring to inform the teaching and learning experiences we create at BestStart Kilmarnock Street. We know that learning should be fun, feel good, and be led by our children with support from our talented and passionate teachers.

Our Team

We have a consistent and stable Multicultural team working together for 5 to 10 years. Our Kaiako supports children’s learning and development with English, Te Reo Māori, and NZ signs alongside the many languages spoken here such as Korean, Punjabi, Hindi, Filipino, Nepalese, Mandarin, Japanese, German, and Swiss German.

Felix will be so prepared to move on to the next chapter of his life, thanks to Montessori, we have so many fond memories and feel blessed to have been a part of the centre. Such a heartfelt 'thank you' to the whole team in the Montessori room at BestStart Kilmarnock.

Thanks to the wonderful staff in the Montessori room, Divinity has been eager to start her own garden at home. She was super excited to teach Mummy how to nurture a seedling and explained the process very well. I'm so proud of how much Divinity has progressed in focusing and taking her time with one task.

I can't express myself enough to say thank you to all of you for guiding/teaching my daughter over the last year. I can see how much she is progressing since her first day in Montessori. Not only the knowledge but also the love, the happiness she shows everyday after being back from school. I feel lucky that finally she has a very good base from Montessori before starting big school. You guys have been doing a great job with all the children.

We got on the bus and visited our local library! The librarian, Rachel, read us some stories and we sang songs about Matariki. We believe these trips are great for children to learn and experience the local community.
