Call in to EduKids Stoddard and you will experience the warm welcome and nurturing environment that our children experience everyday.
Our centre cares for children from 3 months old and provides an engaging and fun education right up to when they are ready to start school. The community is diverse and we embrace each child’s cultural background and specific needs. Our teachers are skilled in supporting children and families who speak little or no English.
We encourage families and whanau to be actively involved in their child’s learning as we see parents/caregivers as the child’s first teacher. Strong partnerships between teachers and families are a priority for us. We offer online portfolios (Storypark) so families can check up on their child’s learning at a time that is convenient for them; this also allows families to easily contribute to their child’s learning journey.
A key part of our centre philosophy is for children to have fun! We like to offer a wide range of experiences for children, having regular dress up days and events which we welcome families and whanau to be involved in.
Age specific spaces
We have four spacious classrooms which means the care and education is tailored for each age group and follows the NZ Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whaariki.
Each room has indoor and outdoor space with separate playgrounds for the infants and toddlers to cater to their developing learning needs. Our families love that our teachers have expertise in their chosen age groups.
The infant teachers form close, nurturing relationships with families and we follow each child’s home routine. We create a calm and loving place for our youngest children filled with cuddles and smiles. Culture is a very important part of EduKids Stoddard and we have many ways and experiences to help develop and celebrate cultural identity.
Our toddlers are exposed to sensory exploration and encouraged into group play to develop social skills and independence. Our toddlers have many wonderful learning experiences to encourage and grow their curiosity and interests.
The transition into the kindergarten rooms is carefully planned to ensure the child is developmentally ready and moves with their friend groups. The kindergarten room is an exciting place for children where their learning is supported and developed to fulfill their potential. BestStart’s unique Be School Ready programme prepares children individually and in groups for Primary School focusing on literacy, numeracy, socialisation and independence skills.
EduKids Stoddard is open from 7.30am – 6.00pm, Monday to Friday. We offer sessions, short days and full day options, both part time or full time over the week. We encourage you to come and have a look at our centre to see how we can support your child on their pathway to becoming a capable, confident and responsive learner, reaching their potential in everything they do.
We welcome you and your child to come and visit us anytime during our open hours.
We are excited to offer our families access to Storypark e-portfolios. They are a great way to keep up to date with what you child is doing while at the centre. You can log in to the secure platform to see what’s been happening in their day, check out photos of them and comment on their activities.
