Storybook Dress Up Stay and Play!

27 October, 9.30-10.30
All welcome

First Steps Parnell Storybook Dress Up Stay and Play

The children at First Steps Parnell are so engaged at Storytime we’ve decided to celebrate with a Storybook Dress up Day! We invite the community in to join us on Friday 27th October from 9.30- 10.30 am.

We encourage children to come dressed as their favourite character from their favourite story. We will have lovely book corners set up, CD stories in English and Te Reo that the children can sing along too, Puppet Storytime, and children and teachers sharing their stories. There are going to be lots of fun book activities throughout the morning for all our bookworms to enjoy.

We look forward to seeing your children in dress up for this fun filled morning.

First Steps Parnell is centrally located and easily accessible, with free pick up and drop off zone parking. We’re convenient for both commuting families as well as the local community. We offer flexibility around short and long day attendance. The centre can have up to 42 children from 3 months to 5 years. Our dedicated and passionate team of teachers provide tailored learning programs that nurture your child’s individual needs and interests. With First Steps Parnell, your child will grow as a happy, confident learner.

We have two separate areas in our centre. The Pukeko room cares for our infants and toddlers who have their own separate area for safe and confident exploration and play. In the Tui room, children from 2 to 5 years play and learn together, experiencing activities that promote their development. We provide a Be School Ready initiative throughout the centre that focuses on the development of independence and confidence with children.

The children’s playgrounds are well-resourced and offer an oasis within the CBD. The centre uses Storypark, an online based portfolio system, which enables communication with teachers and allows families to share in their child’s learning journey.

At our most recent ERO review the centre was rated ‘Well Placed”. Our dedicated teaching team are committed to upholding this high standard and growing the centre from strength to strength. Teachers continuously improve their professional knowledge both through BestStart and externally sourced programmes.

At First Steps Parnell, we:

* Understand what’s important when you’re looking for childcare: a nurturing, stimulating, safe environment.

* Employ educators who are passionate in their endeavor to support, empower, nurture and inspire children.

* Offer quality teacher to child ratios with an emphasis on child responsive interactions

* Provide a quality service to the community respecting all values and beliefs.

* Provide three delicious, nutritious meals a day.

By placing your child in our care you can be assured that your child will build a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

Enrolling is easy. We encourage parents or carers to visit us, talk to our staff and get ‘the feel and ambiance’ when you walk into the centre. We’ll gladly provide a tour of the centre where we can discuss your families’ needs as well as our approach to education and care and where you will learn more about how the centre can benefit your child.

We are excited to offer our families access to Storypark e-portfolios. They are a great way to keep up to date with what you child is doing while at the centre. You can log in to check out photos of them and comment on their activities. Click here for more information.

Parent Feedback:

“A big thank you to every staff member at First Steps Parnell. This has been the best daycare centre for us in Auckland.”

“Just want to say thanks again for last night, and what a wonderful night it was! I caught up with parents that I met at picnic last time, as well as teachers and parents from the under 2’s room whom I don’t see as often these days. It was a treat to have a lovely dinner served (and not having to do dishes!). It just had such a buzz and a close community feeling about it. As I got into the car, I looked back into the windows and saw the team clearing things away, no doubt everyone worked overtime to pull this together. Just want to say thanks to everyone, and I feel very lucky to be part of this community.”
