To celebrate Holi, Kids to Five Vardon has a fun colour run with bright vibrant powder dyes! We listened to Indian music and watched a movie about Holi to learn more about this festival. It was an exciting way to experience other cultures!
“Balloons over Green”
To celebrate Balloons Over Waikato, Kids to Five Green Street held a “Balloons Over Green” evening. We filled helium balloons and tied a card to them with a child’s name and our centre’s contact details. On the note we asked the finder to return them to our centre, or make contact, so that the children […]
Featured in The Blenheim Sun
At Donald Duck Preschool we have invited families to share their interests with us. Ruby’s mum came to the preschool to demonstrate and involve the children in the process of “Tie Dying“. The Hamilton SPCA gladly accepted Kids to Five Vardon’s donations of animal food and toys from our families. This experience taught the tamariki ma about manakitanga through respecting our environment, which includes animals.
The living world
First Steps Papatoetoe created a living environment for insects. All the children took turns to add their plants and soil and it turned out great. The centre can’t wait for the insects to enjoy their new space.
Pay it Forward

The teachers at the centre wanted to lead by example so they gathered unused handbags and […]
