Our New Veggie Garden
A huge interest at ABC Rotorua Central is gardening, and growing food. So we have re vamped an area that was not being used for anything and are planting a vegetable garden to share with our community.
Wati Waita Macarena
ABC Rotorua Central‘s under two tamariki have been enjoying learning our Matariki waiata, Wati Waita Macarena. They play along on thier drums while thier kaiako accompanies them on her guitar.
Fun In The Frost
We have had some cold mornings here at ABC Rotorua Central and what better way to learn about ice then to explore our playground early in the morning while the frost is still on the ground.
Tamariki at ABC Rotorua Central had a great time collecting all the autumn leaves and then playing with them in the wind. It was the perfect opportunity to get outside and burn some energy while learning more about nature and the seasons.
At ABC Rotorua Central we value natural resources and giving children the opportunity to explore and be creative. Here’s what a group of four children came up with from a basket of shells.
Recently at ABC Rotorua Central we held our own Commonwealth Games, and everyone received a medal. We had high jump, gymnastics, running races, sack races, long jump and hurdles. What a fantastic day we all had!
ABC Rotorua Central visit Paradise Valley
Yesterday 50 children and 30 grown up’s from ABC Rotorua Central had a fantastic visit to Paradise Valley park. We saw so many exciting things like Lions, Huge Trout, Farm Animals, Wallabies and Native Birds. We loved walking in our beautiful forest environment.
Craig Smith visits ABC Rotorua Central
At ABC Rotorua Central, we had Craig Smith visit us with his newest book “The Scariest thing in the garden” Children from Community Kindy Waikite Valley, ABC Monokia and ABC Rotorua Sunset also joined us. Of course our favourite was the Wonky Donkey. And we got a special visit from Kaka the Kea.

Our team ABC Rotorua Central participated in the Rotorua Pink Walk last night. It costs $5 per person to register with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Awareness.
