Nurturing Through Nature
At EduKids Riverbend we believe that our children are empowered to nurture through nature. This was shown when we had a lamb in the centre and we captured these lovely images of our tamariki caring for it.

Tamariki Exploring Autumn Leaves
Tamariki at EduKids Riverbend have been exploring the change in seasons this week noticing how the trees are changing colour and loosing their leaves. As part of our intentional teaching we introduced an art experience using autumn paint colours and bubble wrap to re-create what they could see. Our tamariki were very proud of their creations.
A grey, rainy day at EduKids Riverbend provided an opportunity for our toddlers to explore water sustainability together. Tamariki had a go using different vessels to catch water, as it drip, drip, dripped from our shade sail overhead. Next we recycled this water to mix and swirl with cornflour, creating our own gloop!
What awesome fun our tamariki at EduKids Riverbend had on Wheels Day this week as they got to bring their own bikes and scooters from home to the centre. One of our kaiako built a ramp in the sandpit and tamariki were able to challenge themselves with coordinating their balance as they rode over it. It […]
Delicious plums at EduKids Riverbend
At Edukids Riverbend Road we are lucky to have several fruit trees including a Black Boy peach tree. We eagerly watch as the fruit grows and ripens and then we enjoy it fresh from the tree, Yum!
Harvest time at EduKids Riverbend
Our tamariki at Edukids Riverbend have been very involved in caring for and harvesting from our vegie garden. They enjoy being responsible for watering the plants and checking on them daily to see if we have anything ready to harvest. Finally it was time to harvest our corn. Our whanau are appreciating the fresh produce […]
Recently our toddlers at EduKids Riverbend celebrated a ‘Wheels day’. Bringing along favourite bikes, scooters and wheelchairs from home. We took advantage of our large carpark to enjoy our favourite wheels! This links to our tamariki’s current interest in ‘transportation’. The children (and kaiako!) had such fun, and and we hope to do it again!

It was a fantastic evening, joining together, to celebrate this special time of year. Santa Claus made a starring visit, giving presents to each of the tamariki. Bubbles, face painting, and of course the Marine Parade playground by […]
