At First Steps Brooklyn, we have connections with the wider communities. Our centre had a visit by St John Ambulance officer who shared her experiences and showed the tamariki the emergency equipment needed to save life.

At First Steps Brooklyn, we had disco and shared kai for our Christmas party. Whanau and friends joined us to celebrate this event and everyone had a great time. At First Steps Brooklyn, we like to celebrate our cultural diversity.
Today at First Steps Brooklyn, the teachers, children and whanau came dressed up in their Indian costume. Everyone decorated the centre will lights, diyas , candles and drawing rangolis on the tables and floor. The day ended with eating and sharing Indian sweets and dancing on Indian music.
Visiting our friends
At First Steps Brooklyn, we were very happy when our friends at Community Kindy Jones invited us to their carnival. We were lucky as they provided us with the transport. Our tamariki had an awesome time meeting their new friends and participating in all the activities and games.
On Thursday 29th June First Steps Brooklyn in Hamilton turned one! We celebrated our first birthday by inviting our whanau and community to come together for a memorable afternoon.
