Samoan Language Week

Acknowledging cultural diversity is one of our biggest focuses here at First Steps Maich.  We have over 14 different nationalities of children in our centre. The children enjoyed learning about the Samoan culture from one of our children’s grandmother who came dressed up in her traditional clothes.  She read Samoan books and danced to Samoan music.

Punjabi Day

First Steps Maich celebrated “Punjabi Day” with fun activities.  The teachers prepared Punjabi food for the children as a part of their cultural experience. Everyone dressed up in beautiful and colourful Punjabi clothes and accessories.  The children at First Steps Maich learnt Punjabi songs and dances throughout the day.
