At BestStart Blenheim Central, we believe children learn through exploring their environments and as teachers we guide and support them along the path to ensure they reach their goals and stay curious. By ensuring children have a safe place and the freedom to explore it allows them to discover themselves and the world around them so they can stand strong in their identities and be confident explorers!

You will find our rich and diverse learning community housed inside two converted villas in the heart of Blenheim on High Street.  We prioritise relationships, communication and reliability with our families ensuring they can feel confident in us to care and educate their tamariki.  We really want to get to know our families and their individual needs to not only support their pēpē in our care, but the entire family unit and the BestStart Blenheim Central whānau as a whole. 

Our Team

We are all family at BestStart Blenheim Central. We foster a team culture that is kind, caring and supportive that is role modelled for the children. We all have the children at heart. Some of our teachers have been at the centre for a long time, some of our staff for about 15 years! There is so much knowledge and wisdom that we share with each other to ensure the best care and education for tamariki.

Our Spaces

Both of our villas provide areas where children can work with their friends or in their own space. The resources on offer reflect children’s interests and are available for children to explore using their own individual learning styles. Although we have two separate classrooms, we are one cohesive community with the same values of growing confident learners.

My daughter recently celebrated her birthday and some people who attended the party commented on how well behaved the kids were. Majority of the children were all from the same classroom and I would like to say a big thank you to the teachers for supporting the parents in making sure that good behaviour is recognised and encouraged while they are at daycare. I have thought about the way Eleanor has been settled during her 18 months at daycare and there is nothing that I can think of that needs improvement settling wise 😊 all I can do is commend you on your processes.

No matter what my problem is or how big it looks to me I know I just have to call the centre and they will go out of there way to support me – great when your a single parent and just need someone to say your doing a good job everything is ok and normal!

It's no secret that the transition to school is intense for children & as my son is extremely physically active & had a short concentration span, I was a little apprehensive about him starting school. To be honest, I thought he'd hate it. In order to help prepare him, I decided to enrol him at ABC Central (Blenheim) pre-school & I'm so glad I did because their program that prepares pre-schoolers for school is excellent. Within a few months of joining he was able to sit and listen with the other children, take care of his personal belongings, recognise & write his own name and was becoming increasingly independent by the day. I totally recommend BestStart pre- school because they made the transition to school so much easier. It's such a great school & the teachers are lovely.
