Our Under 2s space provides a nurturing and supportive environment where our pēpē feel safe, valued, and cared for every day. Guided by the principles of Te Whāriki and our centre values of manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga, and kotahitanga, tamariki are encouraged to freely explore their natural surroundings. Our dedicated kaiako foster each child’s growth and development with warmth and attentiveness, nurturing confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging from the very beginning.

At BestStart Pipiwai Road, we pride ourselves on creating a cosy, welcoming space where tamariki feel safe, secure, and loved. With separate areas for different age groups, every child is supported on their unique learning journey. Guided by our values of manaakitanga (care and respect), kaitiakitanga (guardianship of our environment), and kotahitanga (unity and togetherness), we nurture a strong sense of belonging for tamariki and their whānau. Surrounded by our beautiful rural setting, tamariki enjoy endless opportunities for outdoor play, exploration, and discovery — making every day a new adventure.
Koru RoomUnder 2s
Harakeke (2 years old)
Our 2-Year-Old space is thoughtfully designed and resourced to help tamariki grow, thrive, and explore with confidence. Reflecting the principles of Te Whāriki, this space encourages free exploration and the opportunity to engage in a combined playground area with our 3–5-year-olds, fostering curiosity and social connection. Each day, our kaiako provide meaningful experiences tailored to support tamariki in their individual developmental stages, nurturing learning, independence, and creativity.
Whanake(3 - 5 years old)
Our 3–5-Year-Old space offers a rich, engaging environment where tamariki are supported to develop the skills needed for their next steps at school. Guided by Te Whāriki, our Set for School programme focuses on literacy, numeracy, and science, while also encouraging tamariki to explore a wide range of experiences provided by our passionate kaiako. This is balanced with our daily whānau hui, where tamariki come together for group learning, fostering communication, collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging within their learning community.
