At BestStart Whangaparāoa, we treasure whanaungatanga. Our recent Mother’s Day event brought whānau together to relax, connect, and celebrate. With treats, photos, and joyful moments, it was a special day building strong bonds between families and kaiako.

At BestStart Whangaparāoa, we value relationships—Whanaungatanga—with our whānau and love to strengthen these connections in any way we can.

Centre events provide the perfect opportunity for families and educators to connect, share information about children’s progress, and build trust. This leads to a more collaborative approach to childcare.

On Monday, we held a Mother’s Day event where we hosted mums and significant female figures in our lives. It was wonderful to see such a great turnout, with many grandparents also attending.

We provided a spread of sweet and savoury treats and beverages. Parents and grandparents had the opportunity to take a photo with their child or grandchild in a beautiful photo frame created by one of our kaiako.

Each child received a printed photo backed with a quote, accompanied by a coffee sachet, which was very well received. It was lovely to see children and parents take time to relax while connecting with their kaiako and peers, strengthening their sense of belonging.

We had a fantastic response to this event with many positive comments, and we look forward to hosting similar events more frequently in the future.
