What a truly heartwarming and memorable Market Day we shared together in our Pōhutukawa Room. Over the past week, our tamariki have been on a beautiful journey of discovery — exploring the butterfly life cycle as a symbol of growth and transformation, expressing kindness in their interactions, and thoughtfully creating arts and crafts with care and intention. Each piece reflected their imagination, effort, and pride.
Market Day brought all of this learning to life. Our tamariki stepped confidently into the role of little leaders and creators, preparing and selling fresh, delicious smoothies made from seasonal fruits, alongside their handmade treasures. It was incredibly special to witness their growing confidence as they engaged with whānau, shared their ideas, used language with purpose, and experienced the joy of contributing to something bigger than themselves.
There was a true sense of connection, belonging, and arohanui felt throughout the day — a reflection of who we are at Newton, where learning is alive, meaningful, and shared together.
Ngā mihi nui to all our whānau who came along to support. Your presence, encouragement, and smiles created such a rich and positive experience for our tamariki. Together, we are proud to have contributed towards supporting Plunket and the important mahi they do for tamariki and whānau in our community.
We are so proud of our Pōhutukawa tamariki — their confidence, creativity, and kind hearts truly blossoming.
