How do childcare centres prevent the spread of illness?
Our childcare centres help prevent the spread of illness through good hygiene practices, regular cleaning and clear illness policies. These measures reduce the risk of germs spreading between children and help create a healthier environment for everyone.
Young children are still developing their immune systems and spend a lot of time learning and playing together, which can make the spread of illness more common. Regular handwashing, cleaning shared surfaces and toys, and encouraging unwell children and adults to stay home all play an important role in limiting the spread of infection.
At BestStart, we follow established hygiene procedures, cleaning routines and illness policies across our centres. If a child becomes unwell during the day, they are cared for in a supervised space until they can be collected. During illness outbreaks, we follow public health guidance and may introduce additional measures to help protect children, families and staff.
